When it Rains, It Pours

This piece was created in response to a prompt regarding positive and negative space. It also investigates notions of emotional reality and what writhes beneath the surface of even the most seemingly innocent person. Using simple imagery of a young girl, this work encompasses the notion of contrast, both in design and conceptual meaning. It compares the more rigid lines of the young girl to the loud and complex maneuvering of the waves that emerge beneath her. This difference works to communicate the tension between what we see and assume, versus what potentially lives underneath.
