The Wonderful Ride of 2020

This work is a cathartic investigation of the effects of the pandemic and quarantine on a young mind. In using the image of an old, broken down carousel, it communicates the idea of something that was once cherished and looked forward to, like a ride at one’s local fair, but with time and circumstance has faded out of the grasp of those that were once so fond of it. This idea can be linked to how milestone experiences like graduation and prom, for example, were altered by the pandemic.
